Ryan and Stephanie met when they were 15. Stephanie was not allowed to date at that time but that did not stop Ryan from trying to make her his girlfriend. On the day of the 2003 Olympic Men’s hockey finals, he traded his skater clothes for a conservative turtle neck and khaki pants. He proceeded to convince his father to get off work, drive across town, and wait outside Stephanie’s home as he asked her parents to bend their rules and let Stephanie date him. His acts of bravery paid off. Ryan and Stephanie are getting married on May 1st, 2010.
